About Qvalitas
Our Story
Qvalitas Compliance & Consultants started operating formally in 2018. Originally trading as Green Steel Engineering.
Since 2010 under our Managing Director
We are an independent New Zealand owned and operated third party non-statutory consultancy. We are local professionals with excellent knowledge and understanding of New Zealand regulations as well as extensive exposure to the Asia Pacific region and overseas.
Our founder and Principal Consultant, John Amaya
He began his career as a Manufacturing Engineer, Welding Specialist/Inspector and Independent Consultant as well as Quality Assurance Manager and Lead Auditor for multiple organisations in New Zealand and Australia.
His latest role as
John’s extensive experience in Construction, Heavy Engineering, Oil and Gas industries has helped to shape his philosophies for the Governance of Qvalitas Compliance & Consultants.

Meet The Team
John Amaya
Managing Director
Management Systems & Regulatory Compliance
John has nearly 20 years of local and international experience in heavy engineering, multidisciplinary projects across power generation and oil & gas sectors as well as high-end commercial construction.
John has worked and delivered projects for Mitsubishi Heavy Engineering, Fuji Electric Sumitomo Corporation as well as some of the biggest New Zealand construction companies and Australian oil & gas operators.
John’s wealth of experience in Health and Safety, Quality Assurance, shut down planning and execution, operational maintenance, liaising with statutory bodies and clients, as well as human resources. This all has contributed to the foundations for QCC.
John enjoys playing guitar and spending time with family and friends.

Malcolm Coe
Senior Technical Advisor
Management Systems & Regulatory Compliance
Malcolm has over 30 years of local and international experience in heavy engineering and multidisciplinary projects, predominantly in the power generation sector and process facilities.
Malcolm has worked and delivered projects for Mitsubishi Heavy Engineering, Fuji Electric Sumitomo Corporation, Siemens as well as some of the biggest New Zealand and Australian engineering companies.
Malcolm’s wealth of experience in Health and Safety, Quality Assurance, project pricing and delivery, shut down planning and execution, operational maintenance, liaising with Statutory bodies and Clients, as well as human resources makes him an invaluable asset for QCC.

What we do
We have been part of teams responsible for delivering projects in New Zealand and Australia as well as acting on behalf of multinational organizations overseeing their operational processes in South East Asia (Vietnam, South Korea & the Philippines).
